    <p>Rabbi Rakefet claims that geirus is valid in our times [in the state of Israel] because the converts think that Judaism doesn't require very much and as long as they are "li-shem shomayim" it works. This is a specious and very misleading claim. The converts to whom he refers have no intention of keeping mitzvos and the conversions are bogus, just done for nationalistic purposes in order to make as many Jews as possible. R' Rakefet says that bi-dieved such a conversion is valid. Bi-dieved means "after the fact" but today they are converting that way lichtachilah. Most contemporary poskim hold that if there is no intention to keep mitzvos the geirus is meaningless.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>
