Description

We often wonder whether the Mishna - as Torah She'bal'peh - can be interpreted in a similar way that we interpret the Written Torah. Can the words of the Mishna conceal hidden meanings, e.g. Gematria? We will study the Vilna Gaon's insights into the first Mishna in Masechet Megilla and see how the numerical value of the words of the MIshna hide a deeper meaning. This parallels the Name of HaShem as Adon-oi which conceals a deeper meaning reflected in the name HaVaya. The entire story of Purim reflects this concept of the hidden meaning beyond events that seem to be governed by the laws of nature.
