1. Title: Avoda Zara? - Daas Torah - Political Views
      Author: True == 1 ? Anonymous : Anonymous &##44;

1. Rabbi Rakefet says that it is "100 percent assur" as Avoda Zara to put a picture of a Rebbe on a Gemara. This is Rabbi Rakefet's invention. What is the Avoda Zara? Nobody is davening to or serving the Rebbe.

2. Rabbi Rakefet says that "Daas Torah" is a modern concept. This is misleading. It is correct that the TERM wasn't used until modern times but the notion of looking into the Torah to guide us in life decisions and asking questions of Rabbonim is an ancient concept.

3. There is a mitzva of clinging to Talmidei Chachomim in order to learn from their ways [ובו תדבק]. Rabbi Rakefet ignores this and emphasizes how students should make their own decisions and be independent. Of course different people have different tasks but one should learn from and emulate great people.

4] Rabbi Rakefet extols Naftali Bennent. Not to get political but Naftali B. doesn't follow Torah or Rabbonim when making his politcal decisions. I wonder how voting for him jives with being an Orthodox Jew when he [admittedly] doesn't feel bound by purely Torah strictures. Voting for a non-Torah party is forbidden as מסייע בידי עוברי עבירה as Rav Avraham Shapira, the former Chief Rabbi wrote in a an article.
