Description

In Yaakov's dream he sees a vision of a ladder connecting heaven and earth with angels traveling up and down the ladder. What is the meaning of this dream? Why does Yaakov specifically have this vision at the future site of the Beit HaMikdash? We explore the nature of our world being built on a division between shamayim and aretz, heaven and earth, and explain how the Beit HaMikdash is the ladder meant to draw the two together. Additionally, we discover how man is built upon this same dichotomy and is also is created with an internal ladder to bridge and unify his own shamayim and aretz sides.
