Parsha:
Korach Re'eh Shoftim

Description

The Divine selection of a king, as promised in Devarim 17, raises several questions about the selections/choices made by God. When God chooses His people - is that choice revocable? This issue lies at the heart of the early Jewish-Christian debate. Although we vehemently deny that possibility, God's choice of a king (Saul) and of a city (Shilo) were revocable. An inquiry into the meaning of Divine Choice and what makes that choice irrevocable and permanent is the focus of this shiur.
