Hashkafa for the three weeks: Does the period of the בין המצרים consist of 21 or of 22 days? Many commentaries assume the #21 which corresponds to both the period of the growth of the almond tree and the 21 days of Teshuva & Kappara from Rosh Hashana until Hoshana Rabba. Yet the actual count reaches 22, unless we exclude the 9th of Av. But why drop the very day of destruction from the count of these days of Aveilus? This will lead us to an Aggadeta in Bava Kama regarding the letter ט which was omitted from the 1st Luchos which Moshe broke on the 17th of Tamuz. The ט teaches the optimism inherent in the 9th of Av.
