Description

The "Song at the Sea" (Shirat haYam), surely the highlight of Parashat Beshalach, is an anomaly in Humash. We might expect that this song be presented in Tehillim; Haza"l teach that many of the Psalms were composed during the period of Yetziat Mitzrayim. A proposal as to the significance of the inclusion of Shirat haYam into the narrative, along with addressing several other difficulties in the Exodus narrative, are dealt with in this shiur.
