Hashkafa for Parshas Vayigash: the dialogue between Pharoh & Yaakov about the years of his life. We will raise a number of questions on the two verses that record Pharoh's question & Yaakov's response. Based on the insights of the Netziv & the Malbim we will try to present two definitions of חיים, life. Pharoh & Yaakove were operating with two different meanings of the word "life". Sarah Imainu represents the paradigm of genuine חיים. To her belongs the outstanding level of רוח הקודש. Her faith is so strong, her level of joy in life serves as an example for her descendants throughout history.
