Description

In Egypt in the mid-1500s, a Jewish man purchased a slave woman from al-Habash (Abyssinia). She claimed to be Jewish and that her husband was killed in war. Her master had a child by her, and the son has grown up and wants to marry a Jewish woman. Is the son Jewish? Is he a mamzer?
