For Masechet Bava Matzia 46a we will study the sugya of how to circumvent the additional payment of a חומש in the context of חילול פרות מעשר שני. This becomes relevant to disprove the view that מטבע נעשה חליפין. The sugya continues with various proofs and disproofs on this central issue as to whether a coin can serve as the method of implementing a kinyan חליפין as a substitute for a kerchief. We will discuss the issue of ריבית in the case of a שולחני, the moneychanger.
