FALL 2015 SEMESTER: Shiur 2 Last time we discussed the possibility of changes occurring in the text of Tanach via error. This time we discuss the possibility of changes occurring deliberately. We do this by comparison to other textual traditions (the gospels and the Biblical text used by the Samaritans), and by close attention to sources in Chazal that discuss this phenomenon. What is distinct about Chazal's approach in this realm, and what implications does this have for our community's experience of modernity?
