Description

Based on the sefer Alei Meroros p. 290 by Rav Yehoshua Moshe Aaronson. What happened to us between the 1st and 2nd sets of tablets? We were broken luchos (tablets). The tablets are like the wedding ring that binds us to Hashem, but the shattered tablets are testimony to our infidelity - so why were they kept in the Holy of Holies, what was their purpose and task? When going out to war, what do we take for protection, so that Hashem remembers us in a way of rachamim (compassion)? Taking encouragement from and in even the lowest spiritual place. If we believe and trust in Hashem, do we really need to care, and check every 10 minutes, what the UN, Europe, CNN or any news outlet or politician think of us? Broken luchos - Jews who came out of the camps. During everything that's going on right now, we must not forget the baseless hatred we have seen between Jews, and the amazingly great achdus (unity) right now. Jews who kept their faith in the camps no matter what. My only crime - being a Jew; taking responsibility for being Jews, being proud to be Jews, protecting other Jews and taking responsibility for each other in these last days before Moshiach.
