Description
The parsha (portion) of Chayei Sarah is about Sarah's death, not about her life. Rav Shimshon Raphael Hirsch explains the incident when Hagar ran to the desert, she realized that Hashem is everywhere, and that Hashem will always listen to her. To be a Jew means to know that Hashem is always looking at us, like a mother. After the Akeida (the Binding) and the death of his mother, Yitzchak entered into the world of Be'er L'Chai Ro'ie (the Well of Seeing Life), a place of tefillah (prayer). Rivka comes to replace Sarah through Yitzchak's tefillos.
