Parsha:

Description

We have a kabbalah (traddition) that the dead will be brought back to life during the month of Nissan. According to the Kotzker Rebbe it is often hard to bring the living back to life than the dead. The first three of the special parshios (weekly portions) refer to a person tearing himself away from impurity; the fourth (Parshas HaChodesh) means that something new is ready to start, the attachment to Hashem. Why are we not allowed to interrupt between the third and fourth cup of wine? Being redeemed from slavery by itself is not enough; we need a tachlis, a purpose. The completion of something is everything. Dying is not the end - it corresponds to the fourth term of redemption. "Almost" there during creation, "almost" there at Har Sinai, "almost" there at the inauguration of the Mishkan (Tabernacle), and "almost" there at the inauguration of the Beis HaMikdash. There is so much more to life than "you're going to die, and therefore enjoy this moment with this food, that movie, and the other desire." The dating period before Pesach. The loss of cleaning for Pesach - I want it and I want it now!
