Description

Yaakov Avinu never died. In the times of the Temple, the lechem hapanim (show bread) never became stale, because we were never disconnected from our source. The Eitz Hachayim (Tree of Life) was about connecting to Hashem, while the Eitz Hadaas (Tree of Knowledge) was about doubt and arriving to Hashem on our own. Once Adam and Chavah ate from the Eitz Hadaas, they couldn’t go back to eat from the Eitz Hachaim. Shabbos is an opportunity to return to Gan Eden, and the source. To keep Shabbos properly, we need to be shomer Erev Shabbos.
