Description

A chok is a mitzvah (commandment) that we do not understand. There is a person who has G-d's will so deeply engraved in him that he naturally does G-d's will. One of the praises of G-d is that He is both naeh (beautiful and impermanent) and netzach (permanent). The meaning of being alive is that we can change. The lechem hapanim (showbread) in the Temple is an example of constancy that stays fresh. Being regular with our Torah learning and mitzvos engraves them in us. The Torah is simultaneously both old and completely new.
