Description

A commentary by Rav Itamar Shwartz on the Ramchal's work. Volume 1 of the sefer (book) covers the Ramchal's introduction and chapter 1. The importance of learning Torah from beginning to end rather than with "Cliff notes." In Halachah it is sometimes ok to use kitzurim (abbreviated texts) or ask a question to simply know what to do right now; however, this is not a way of life. Loshon Harah (talking about another Jew) is not just what we may or may not say; we need to understand what the essence of another Jew is. The proper path towards understanding a sugyiah (topic) in Torah/Halachah. When we don't understand the root cause(s) of our emotional and character flaws. No sane person could possibly suggest that we can change our negative midos by taking a one hour, or one-day seminar on anger, parenting, pride, etc. It takes long and hard work. Studying, in depth, what we are, who we are, and what a Jew is.
