Description

p 81. Women are more linked to the chomer (physical). Men and women need each other to complete themselves. All aveiros (sins) come from the preoccupation with the physical. The relationship between the King and the Prophet was often tenuous. Malchus (Kingship) only has strength through the Torah, which brings Oneness into a world of multiplicity. The Torah is called an eitz (tree) because it is inextricably bound to its roots in Hashem. When the Hasmonean kingdom collapsed, the Torah absorbed malchus into itself. A king is like the Torah in that his royal substance ideally both preserves order and elevates his subjects.
