Description

Rashi at the beginning of Vayikra teaches that only Moshe heard the Divine Voice. What is the connection between the concept Emunat Chachamim mentioned in the Mishna in Avot (amongst the keys to Torah), i.e. the principle of accepting the leadership of the Torah Giants, and Purim? Why do the Jews reject the instructions of Mordechai, both regarding his ruling to refrain from participation in the banquet of the King, and the prohibition of bowing to Haman? We are told that the Jews were compelled - by the mountain over their heads - to accept the Torah at Sinai. Yet, the Jews declared 'we will do & we will hear'. Why did they accept the Torah willingly at the time of the Purim miracle?
