Methodology of Psak Halacha (Yeshivat Har Etzion): This shiur explores three twentieth century cases in which poskim use either the mechanism or rhetoric of akirat davar min hatorah. It analyzes Rabbi Moshe Feinstein's psak about taking money to learn or teach Torah, Rabbi Yechiel Yaakov Weinberg (Sridei Esh) about Kol Ish and Rabbi Ovadiah Yosef's position about marrying Karaites.
