Description
From HeiKitzu ViRaninu of Rabbi Chaim Cohen ("The Chalban"), Pages 84-85. A modern day phenomena is the individual's search for his true self. Done in an arrogant way this only causes tremendous physical and spiritual pain. However if done authentically, a person not only discovers himself but gains something much more profound. He finds his nation and sees himself within that body. A Jew is nothing without the Jewish nation. Seeing the world as a personal playground for ones every whim and desire is the epitome of smallness. Small mindedness means that a person cannot think outside of himself. A Jew must act as a means to nationhood. The big picture reveals the light of God in this world. This true joy inches Moshiach closer.
