Description
The Mechilata in Parshat Bo requires Achilas Sova in the mitzva of Achilas HaPesach. It would appear to be a unique Halacha in Korban Pesach. Rashi and the Rashbam view this as a universal Halacha that is derived from a verse in the Torah and applies to all Kodshim. Tos' quotes the Riva who in turn quotes the Yerushalmi that this Halacha is Derabanan and only applies to Pesach. Does achilas sova set up the minimal volume for Achilas HaPesach, i.e. Kedey Sviah (=two kezeisim), as the Rambam indicates, or is it establishing the quality of Achila, i.e. when one is satiated, as the Meiri would have it? Why was the Korban Chagiga of the 14th of Nisan eaten before the Pesach, and why doesn't the Halacha of Al HaSovah apply to the Chaggiga?
