Description

We begin this shiur for the women of Midreshet Rachel with an overview of parshat Chukat, a complex and multifaceted parasha. The unique integration in Chukat of Jewish History & Law is striking. Moreover the progression in this parsha - the constant shift between the ups & the downs, the sad & the joyous, reflects the zigzag of Jewish History. The single concept that repeats itself throughout Chukat is death, the ultimate enemy of man. Death is antithetical to everything Judaism believes in & aspires for. But there is a powerful message of faith inherent in the secret of Parah Aduma as is revealed in the Zohar. We will discover a new answer to the question: who really sprinkles the Mei Chatat on the Tameh & redeems man from Death?
