Description

Within our study of Tfilla, we will analyize the formula for praise of Hashem which we don't recite out loud during the course of the year, namely, Baruch Shem Kvod Malchuso LeOlam Va'ed. We will learn the Medrash about Moshe Rabeinu who learned "Baruch Shem" from the malachim and desired to teach this song of praise to his people on earth. But didn't the malachim have copywrite rights? Why are we licensed to recite this song in public on Yom Kippur? Is there a relationship between this praise and the petition so central to the Kaddish: Yehey Shmey Rabba? Did this formula lose its full glory after the destruction of the Mikdash? We will study an amazing chiddush of the Vilna Gaon and add new meaning to the Mussaf of the Shalosh Regalim.
