I received an email setting the record straight as to what happened with Dr. Chaim Soloveitchik's bar mitzvah parsha:
1.Chaim was born the first day of Succos;
2.So, the Bar-Mitzvah event was scheduled for “Bo Bayom” and he prepared his “laining” accordingly;
3.Because of the expected influx of daveners, they were going to set up a tent in the courtyard for the Kiddush;
4.The Ba-alei Batim started worrying about the possibility of a heavy rain, which would require an in doors Kiddush for which there was not room in light of the expected crowd;
5.All of which resulted in a postponement of the event to sometime later and Chaim had more than enough time to prepare the new Parsha.
Learning on the Marcos and Adina Katz YUTorah site is sponsored today by Eric Goldsteinon the occasion of the yahrtzeit of his fatherLouis Goldstein (Yehuda Leib ben Natan Noteh z”l and by Yosef and Chani Newman for a refuah shleimah for Yosef Raphael ben Yehudis
