Description

In this series, titled "Rhyme and Reason: Mitzvot in Rambam's Moreh Nevuchim (Guide for the Perplexed)", we explore the reasons for the mitzvot in the thought of the Rambam and others. This shiur begins Rambam's introduction to the Guide, discusses his intended audience, and asks what we can realistically expect from such a work. How can Rambam write about topics so esoteric, they were forbidden by the Mishna to be taught publicly? Given at the Young Israel of West Rogers Park.
