This shiur discusses the importance of a gabbai in shul. The gabbai's role comes up numerous times in the Shulchan Aruch. Acharonim also analyze the role of the gabbai during Keri'as HaTorah. Additionally, the need for a gabbai with the right set of middos is discussed by Rishonim and Acharonim. This shiur was given with Dr. Adam Karp in mind, as he is being honored at the Shomrei Torah dinner this year. This shiur was also given l'ilui nishmas Meir Mishkoff, z"l, gabbai of the Young Israel of Jamaica Estates during my childhood.
