Description

Hagbah, picking up the Torah before/after laining is quite the honor in the sources. Why, and how come we view it as one of the most mundane acts in Shul? Is this reality an experession of a deeper gap due to inadequate education resulting in a mere instinctual sense of proper Jewish practice?
