Description

Moshe's sin of hitting the rock is one of the most perplexing stories in the Torah. The Rambam gives a unique explanation to the entire story- suggesting that Moshe's main mistake was that he got angry and lost his tempter- as a leader is expected not to lose his emotional equilibrium, and it also caused the nation to think that Hashem was upset at them as well. When raising children, it is common for parents to get angry at their kids- yet we should strive to avoid this at all costs, as most often the anger stems from a personal sense of disrespect as opposed to true chinuch.
