Description

Why does Naami tell Ruth and Orpah she has no one for them to marry, when she has Ploni Almoni and Boaz? And why doesn't Naami tell Ruth to gather grain in Boaz's field, from the start? The answer may lie with the Talmud's view of the shofeit Ivtzan, especially in light of an article by Rabbi Michael Rotenberg.
