In this week's Parsha, the Torah says that Hashem blessed Avraham "bakol", which Rashi explains means that he blessed him with a son, because "ben" is the gematria equivalent of "bakol". Rashi's explanation seems to make sense, but it raises another question- why make the point in a roundabout way, as opposed to saying explicitly that Hashem blessed Avraham with a son?
