It is considered to be a sign of piety and supererogatory behavior to put on two pairs of Tefillin - one that follows the approach suggested by Rashi and the other that are ordered based on the sequence favored by Rabbenu Tam. In this shiur we look at the primary texts and their varied interpretations that lie at the heart of this dispute - and an even wider range of opinions than that.
