    1. Title: Rav Dr. Chaim Soloveitchik
      Author: Aryeh Lebowitz

      I received an email setting the record straight as to what happened with Dr. Chaim Soloveitchik's bar mitzvah parsha:

      1.       Chaim was born the first day of Succos;

      2.       So, the Bar-Mitzvah event was scheduled for “Bo Bayom” and he prepared his “laining” accordingly;

      3.       Because of the expected influx of daveners, they were going to set up a tent in the courtyard for the Kiddush;

      4.       The Ba-alei Batim started worrying about the possibility of a heavy rain, which would require an in doors Kiddush for which there was not room in light of the expected crowd;

      5.       All of which resulted in a postponement of the event to sometime later and Chaim had more than enough time to prepare the new Parsha.
