I received an email setting the record straight as to what happened with Dr. Chaim Soloveitchik's bar mitzvah parsha:
.Chaim was born the first day of Succos;
.So, the Bar-Mitzvah event was scheduled for “Bo Bayom” and he prepared his “laining” accordingly;
.Because of the expected influx of daveners, they were going to set up a tent in the courtyard for the Kiddush;
.The Ba-alei Batim started worrying about the possibility of a heavy rain, which would require an in doors Kiddush for which there was not room in light of the expected crowd;
.All of which resulted in a postponement of the event to sometime later and Chaim had more than enough time to prepare the new Parsha.
