The Zohar promotes an interesting notion that, while talking about SERIOUS and NESSECARY matters is actually allowed on weekdays, Shabbat in shul should be restricted to davening, learning Torah and praise. Why would that day be different in terms of the laws of talking in shul? After all, the sanctity of the shul doesn't get UPGRADED because of the sanctity of Shabbat?
