As stipulated in the Mishnah (Pesahim 10:4), expounding the passage "Arami Oved Avi" (Devarim 26:5-8) forms the core text of the Hagadah. We examine the text itself and some of its earlier Midrashic exegeses, with an eye to seeing how the Hagadah developed and what that can teach us about how we are to go about fulfilling our obligation towards our children at the Seder - and a broader look towards education
