Shiur #7 of a series on "Halakha in the Era of COVID." In this installment, we trace the relationship between the Mitzvah of lighting Chanukah candles and the idea of Pirsumei Nisa, publicizing the miracle(s) of Chanukah, through the Rishonim, Achronim, and contemporary Poskim, and apply the results to the situation of a person in isolation in a location where he cannot light such that others will see the candles. We also consider the question of whether Zoom or other forms of technology can fulfill the obligation of Pirsumei Nisa.
