What was wrong with Yaakov wanting to to dwell in peace and quiet? Rav Schwab- He should have been teaching the world about Hashem. The story of yosef would put him and (the Jewish people forever) back on that track! Rav Moshe- He stopped investing in teaching and educating his children! As a result his children encounter many challenges and difficulties, mainly the story of Yosef. Rav Schwab- Yosef was a naar. "He just couldn't wait to be king", impatience. Another Idea from Rav Schwab- the brothers went to rekindle their achdus in shechem by eating and drinking. Yosef hoped for that but it didnt work. Rav Moshe on Chanuka- in al hanissim we celebrate only "they lit candles" because just a candle is a great miracle!!!
