Description

During the first 5 minites of today's shiur (not recorded), we introduced the debate between the בעל המאור & Ramban regarding the principle of היתר מצטרף לאיסור. The Ma'or claims that this principle applies even when the Issur gives no טעם into the Heter & there is no classic תערובת; whereas the Ramban argues that this principle applies only if there was a נתינת טעם. We wonder how the Ramban would differentiate between this principle and טעם כעיקר, they seem identical. Rashi here applies היתר מצטרף לאיסור to a case where the Nazir ate bread and grapes simultaneously, apparently even without a תערובת. Tos' disagree: there must be a תערובת. We will present the insights of the Yad HaMelech, Birchas HaRosh, Keren Orah, & Yeshuos Yaakov.
