Description

Masechet Eruvin 97b, how to reconcile's Beraisa with our Mishna. The Mishna quotes R' Yehuda as permitting the transport of the container of water across תחומין lines even for an individual. The Beraisa permits the same only for the sake of a שיירא, i.e. a group of people travelling together. The Ra'avad identifies the שיירא as a group of Jewish soldiers and the Halacha will be lenient regarding the Issur of תחומין for the benefit of the soldiers who need the water.
