Masechet Eruvin 74b, we may not set up an Eruv that will connect the בתים of the Jewish neighbors with that Jewish home that shares a מבוי with a non-Jew, since that eruv must not allow carrying into the מבוי since that מבוי has only one single valid חצר that opens into the מבוי. Rav requires a minimum of two חצירות that open into the מבוי.
