Description

Shiur 3 in a series of Shiurim on Pikkuach Nefesh in Yoma Perek 8. This Shiur treats the question of the Shalosh Chamuros, three severe sins for which one gives up one’s life rather than violate. Do these prohibitions apply only if one actively violates them or even if one passively violates them? And what does that say about the nature of the prohibition? We consider one of the most famous pieces by Reb Chaim Soloveitchik, which compares the views of Tosafos and Rambam on this question. Shiur Given on Zoom to Bnot Sinai.
