Description

Pri Migadim says if libun (direct fire) gamur is required, sparks must always fly. In other words, at the time of absorption there might not have been sparks. Nevertheless, in order for libun to burn up the absorption this standard must be met. Rabbi Akiva Eiger (121:1) explains that according to the Maharam MiPano a prohibited substance in liquid form is not considered a buffer. Because there was no kosher medium to transfer the prohibition. Therefore even a cooking scenario is like roasting or baking a prohibited substance. And libun will be required.
