In three different ways throughout the Parsha, we noted how the Torah emphasizes the importance of being a supportive and empathetic peer. We learned this Hashems first words of the Parsha according to the Kotzker Rebbe, from the difficulty of the Egyptians during darkness according to the Chiddushei HaRim, and in the way that the donkey is rewarded, in contrast to the dog. Each message revolves around a similar theme: that to overcome or succeed one needs the support and encouragement of others.
