Description

Part 1 of an anticipated 3 on the similarities and differences of (1) the relationship between an eved ivri (Jewish slave) and an adon, and (2) the relationship between a poel (employee) and an employer. Looking at the view that a poel is a form of eved, and therefore he may leave his job, forfeiting salary, just as an eved can buy out the rest of his servitude.
