Masechet Sanhedrin 7b-8a: why Moshe was stumped by בנות צלפחד & the episode of Zimri; is the Melech independent of the Sanhedrin? The latter issue is an attempt at reconciling the apparent contradiction: on the one hand the King operates together with the Beit Din and needs their approval; on the other hand the King is totally independent of the Sanhedrin. We will study two approaches of the גבורות יצחק to reconcile the סתירה.
