Masechet Sanhedrin B'Iyun 5a: the status of a מומחה לרבים, Part II. The debate between the Rambam and the Rosh as to whether the יחיד מומחה has the status of a Beit Din. The debate between the Shach and the Nesivos regarding the possibility of the יחיד מומחה validating the testimony of two witnesses according to the Rambam. This will impact on the debate between Rav Saadya Gaon and the Ramban regarding a נפשות case. Must the witnesses testify in front of 23 Judges or are three sufficient?
