R' Dr' Rakefet talks a lot about scientific judaism. He misses an important point. I heard this from a top professor at Hebrew U. [who wears a kippa and is a yeshiva graduate]. I paraphrase: In university we don't care if the students keep halacha or not, believe in G-d or not, believe in Torah or not, marry Jewish or not. All that matters is knowledge.
In yeshiva of course the attitude is that if one doesn't keep mitzvos and believe then all of his learning is meaningless.
Learning on the Marcos and Adina Katz YUTorah site is sponsored today
in loving memory ofDr. Felix Glaubach, אפרים פישל בן ברוך, to mark his first yahrtzeit, by Miriam, his children, grandchildren & great grandchildren
