Description

Masechet Sukka בעין, the Tos' on מצוה הבאה בעבירה on 30a. Inevitability creates causality. Tos' sets up two categories of מצוה הבאה בעבירה and connects them to form one single whole. Thus not only a גזילה which made it possible to fulfill the mitzva (the עבירה set up the Mitzva) but also an אכילה of טבל whereby there is no way possible to implement the mitzva without violating the עבירה. This inevitability - I cannot fulfill the mitzva without violating the עבירה - is defined as causality, i.e. the עבירה "sets up" the mitzva.
