Masechet Zevachim 48b: deriving the nature of the requirement of צפון in the Olah is critical. We will begin to analyze the status of צפון in the case of a Korban Chatos, is this a "derivative"? Or is it an original, i.e. it's explicitly mandated by the verse in the Torah? This will have an impact on the requirement of צפון in the case of שלמי ציבור.
