Masechet & Hilchot Shabbat 124a: the debate between the Magen Avraham & the Vilna Gaon re: it's already in his hand must he drop it at once? The Mishna Brura understands that there is a two-fold machlokes & the Gaon rejects the M"A on two counts. One, Muktza is different than a כלי שמל"א. Two, the Heter "it's already in his hand" applies only if he was allowed to pick it up. The Chazon Ish had a different understanding of the view of the Gaon.
